Juniper Midwives is a collective of Midwives who've come together to offer midwifery services to Indigenous and non-Indigenous families in the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 region.
We would like to acknowledge our gratitude to the Nations who graciously share and welcome us on their ancestral homelands, including the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations), As well as the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. Beyond acknowledgement, our mission is to give back to the Nations whose lands we occupy and share, by committing to the growth of community-based Indigenous midwifery through service and mentorship.

Midwives offer complete prenatal care. This means that we can order and interpret all the same lab work and ultrasounds as any other care provider. We offer longer prenatal visits and work in small teams, which means that you’ll always know the care provider at your birth.
Juniper Midwives have admitting privileges at all Calgary hospitals, and also offer safe out-of-hospital birthing options too; either at home, or birth centre.
Woman-centered care is what we do, which means that we are available to our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and work to build trusting relationships by providing all the information families need to make confident choices throughout their pregnancy, birth and postpartum journeys.

If you have any questions regarding your maternity care options, we are always here to help.
